Finally Heard: Feminine Heroes of An Uncivil War

By Carroll County Arts Council (other events)

2 Dates Through May 04, 2013

ABOUT ABOUT

“Finally Heard” tells the story of six remarkable women who served their country in different capacities during the Civil War. Based on journals, letters, medical records, family accounts and legends, the lives of these heroines (a nurse, a canteen woman, a slave, 2 spies and a soldier) come vividly to life against the backdrop of the War Between the States.  The Maryland Ensemble Theatre’s original production gives voices to the little known stories of these heroic women who played extraordinary roles in our nation’s bloodiest conflict. The original script was written in 1997 by Angela D’Ambrosia, Sophie Arrick, Meg Coyle-Stanford, Gene Fouche, Rona Mensah and Wanda Schell.  The production will be directed by Suzanne Beal.
